perhaps a better way to understand the cost o...ROSI<br />perhaps a better way to understand the cost of security is like federal taxes. like it or not if you want to make money in the US you will have to pay taxes. Federal guidances, Compliance Laws and common sense mandate that you have a duty to protect your information and computing/network resources.<br /><br />I like to think that even though I don't agree with all the decision my government makes that my time supporting the government has helped and continue to help make this country the best place in the world to be. Similarly by providing security solution to my clients I feel I am bringing real value to their organization and their customers. Trust me you would not want your financial institutions operating without the guidance of the infosec experts - why is it so hard to see the "value" in that?<br /><br />step out of the government and out of semantics for a moment. Value can be more than direct cash. I value my kids even though the investment is one-way and very costly. I value my country even though the investment is high and at times seems one-way. Customers value our opinions and can see how they benefit from our expertise - that is value.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
